Shooting for the Moment

In Film and Related on November 26, 2011 at 11:02 pm

Well, I just finished (a couple of hours ago) an interview shoot for a documentary assignment for my Editing class.  I think it went quite well, and the others there seem to think so, too.

The subject of my documentary is the creative process of costumers, and I had some excellent costumers to interview.  Many people here (in the Detroit area) know Dave Ivey, who has been doing costume, props, and puppets since the late 1970’s, and works (aside from his day job) on a locally syndicated show, Wolfman Mac’s Chiller Drive-In.  His older daughter, Miki, is also an accomplished costumer, having won awards at many venues.

Christian Walker is a local costumer who is noted for his ornate and beautifully embellished belly-dancing attire, and Barbara Frye is a photographer, graphic designer, and costumer who is known for her creative vision.

My crew was three of my classmates from Wayne State, who performed marvelously, and a couple of friends also stopped by to help out.

There’s a lot more to say, but it’s been a long day, so I’m off to sleeptime.

Ta.
