Requiescat in pace…

In Think About It on August 7, 2011 at 4:14 pm

Yesterday, 6 August, we had to put one of our cats to sleep.  She had been suffering for a couple of months, and the vet said she had a cancerous tumor in her mouth that had spread down her neck.

She was seventeen years old; we’d had her since she was about six months old.  Her name was Ada Jane.

I’m not comfortable talking about her yet, because she’d been ours for that sixteen and a bumf years.  She was quirky, she was cantankerous, she was adventurous, she was mercurial…

She was ours, and we were hers.

If you’ve ever had a pet for a long time, and had to have them put down, you know how we feel.  If you haven’t, then nothing I can say will adequately explain it.

Until a time…
